I **** to tell you this man, but you've done the exact opposite of the least dangerous thing to do. Smokeless tobacco may contain more nicotine ger gram than cigarettes, but users of either product have about the same average blood nicotine levels. The same goes for smokers of "light" cigarettes. Essentially, no matter what tobacco products are involved, regular users will consciously or unconsciously manipulate their usage to keep nicotine levels approximately the same and relatively steady. Because of this, there simply is no cigarette brand that does "the least amount of damage". In fact, the United States Federal Trade Commission recently required the removal of all "tar and nicotine" numbers from tobacco advertising, signage, and any other public information sources precisely because the numbers mislead people into thinking that some brands or styles are safer.

In point of fact, smoking is orders of magnitude more dangerous to your health than any form of smokeless tobacco commonly available in the US. Health officials have sometimes stated that the risks of smoking and dipping are similar, but they are either misinformed or intentionally misleading the public. And that's not a conspiracy theory: There are a huge number of independent researchers around the world, including dozens in the United States, Canada, and major research hospitals in Europe, that do not take any money at all from tobacco interests, who all agree that oral tobacco use poses far less risk to health than smoking does. Even for light smokers, cigarette smoking is still many, many times more dangerous than if they were heavy users of, say, Copenhagen, Skoal, Grizzly, or any other brand of American smokeless tobacco. (NB: Real Swedish snus--not the fake stuff made in the US, but actual SWEDISH snus--has been shown to be far less dangerous than even American smokeless, with decades of research unable to make a single solid link between snus use and illness.)

So: If you are quitting tobacco to avoid health risks, you'd be far, far better off going back to dipping, and then trying nicotine replacement therapy or one of the prescription anti-smoking drugs like Zyban or Chantix. Even if you aren't quitting tobacco due to health risks, switching to cigarettes first is a bad idea, as cigarettes have actually been shown to reinforce addiction much faster than smokeless tobacco (likely because they deliver their nicotine much more quickly than smokeless, which is a critical factor in a substance's addictiveness).

Best of luck to you!!

When I was in junior high, I remember something that stuck with me for the rest of my life: the difference between smoking a light cigarette and a regular one is like jumping off a ten story building versus a sixty story building.. they'll both kill you.

Any light brand. Then go to ultralight and then start working on the habits. Leave your cigarettes at home when you go out to run errands. It's simply practice so you can see you can live and do things without nicotine in your life.
And act like a nonsmoker. Fake it till you make it. Again, it's just to get the "feel" of life without nicotine.
God bless and help you with this.

Nicorette Gum.

Looks like you really don't want to quit that bad.

Chew the gum for three months...and just be DONE with it. Never think of another smoke AGAIN!

Of course, all cigarettes are harmful but they do make low tar brands. There used to be two, Carlton and Now, that I smoked before I quit. It's been so long I don't know if they still make them or not but there is probably something similar.

They are all horrible for your body
I advise you to stay away from them
they are made out of horrible things that can kill you
in fact, my aunt, who has smoked for about thirty years,
had some strange reaction to one of the chemicals
never having any problems before and...
DIED.
I know, that is very rare
but what if you are next?
